At least 12 people were shot across New York City early Friday, including two fatally in the Bronx, police said.

Three people were shot at about 2 a.m. on East 179th Street in the Bronx, including a 60-year-old man shot in the chest who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other victims, a 36-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks, while a 54-year-old man had gunshot wounds to his right arm and backside, police said.

The two victims were taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. No arrests were made and the dead man had not been identified as of early Friday, police said.

Two hours later, a 44-year-old man was shot in the back of the head in front of 4235 Park Avenue in the Bronx, where he was rushed to a hospital by private means before being pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital. No arrests were made, police said.

Two others – a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman – were also shot outside 1210 Gilbert Place in the Bronx. The male victim was hit in the chest and left arm, while the woman had gunshot wounds to her right knee and back. Both were rushed to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

In Brooklyn, six people were shot in four separate incidents, including a 23-year-old man who was struck in the neck at about 3:15 a.m. Friday outside of 177 Sands Street in Vinegar Hill. He was rushed to Methodist Hospital in critical condition, police said.

A man and a woman were also shot on Church Avenue and East 49th Street in Brooklyn. Both were taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two people – a 53-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman – were also struck by gunfire at about 1:15 a.m. on East 49th Street in East Flatbush. Both were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said.

And in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a 36-year-old man was shot in the right thigh at about 3:30 Friday before he was taken to Woodhull Hospital by private means. No arrests were made and an investigation is ongoing, police said.

It was immediately unclear how many people were shot citywide on Aug, 21, 2019, but the spat of shootings early Friday continues the city’s surge of gunfire. Gov. Andrew Cuomo gave a breakdown of the uptick on Monday, including a 60 percent hike in the Bronx, 102 percent in Brooklyn and 54 percent in Manhattan.

Throughout the city, shootings are up 79 percent in year-to-date figures, with more than 90 percent of the victims being identified as minorities, he said.

Shootings are also up throughout New York state, including a 240-percent spike in Albany, the governor said.
